Dear Stakeholders in the Hydropower Industry,

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Initial Selection process for the MHPP, a key initiative in Malawi aimed at harnessing the water from Lake Malawi flowing along the Shire River, the largest river in Malawi and a tributary that flows into the Zambezi River. The 358 MW (approx.) Mpatamanga Hydro Power Project is located on the Shire River in the southern region of Malawi, within the Districts of Blantyre and Neno. MHPP will approximately double the installed electricity capacity in the country, attributed to renewable hydropower.
